Dr. John Goldman, MD
Doctor Goldman is a former Clinical Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He is the current President of Medical Quarters. He is in solo private rheumatology, immunology, and osteoporosis practice in Sandy Springs, GA and is a board certified Internist, Allergist and Rheumatologist. He has been named a Master of the American College of Rheumatology (MACR), a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), and a Certified Clinical Densitometrist (CCD). He is on the active medical staff of Northside Hospital and Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital (both in Atlanta) and Courtesy Staff of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and earned his BS in Science at the University of Wisconsin. He earned his MD at the University of Cincinnati Medical School. He interned at the University of Oregon Medical School Hospitals and Clinics in Portland, Oregon and completed his Internal Medicine residency and fellowship in Immunology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He served as a Major in the United States Army, Medical Corp at Fort Gordon, Georgia before joining the Faculty of Emory University School of Medicine in 1973. In 1982, he went into the private practice of rheumatology in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Goldman has authored more than 74 articles, 35 chapters, and 95 abstracts. He is former Chairman of the Southeast Regional Advisory Council, Committee on Rheumatologic Care, American College of Rheumatology. He was previously an Ambassador for the Research and Education Foundation (REF) of the ACR and Member of the ACR ANA Task Force. He is also the Former Editor of the Osteoflash online newsletter of the International Society of Clinical Densitometry and the Former Chairman of the Third Party Payors Committee of the Medical Association of Georgia. He is also the previous Medical Director of the Carrier Advisory Committee (CAC) of the Georgia Medicare Carrier CAHABA from 2006 until 2012. He was a Rheumatology representative to the Georgia CAC from 1996 until 2012. Dr. Goldman is now a member of the CAC for the JJ Region (Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee) with the Medicare Carrier Palmetto 2018 representing the Medical Association of Georgia. He is a member of the MAA (Medical Association of Atlanta) Board of Directors and previously a Medical Association of Georgia Representative to the Georgia Insurance Commissioner Stakeholder Advisory Committee. Finally, he is the Former President and now Executive Liaison and CME Chairman of the Georgia Society of Rheumatology, Co-Chairman of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rheumatology Society (MARS), and Co-Chairman of the Atlanta Bone Club (ABC).
Dr. Goldman enjoys jogging daily and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
