DEAN T. NORITAKE, MD

Dr. Dean Noritake, M.D.

Dr. Dean Noritake is a board certified rheumatologist in private practice in Pasadena, California. A native of California, he attended the University of California at Irvine, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in the Biological Sciences. He obtained his degree in Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine, where he first developed an interest in rheumatology. He returned to the West Coast for his post-graduate training, completing his internal medicine residency at the VA Wadsworth/UCLA program. He went on to complete his rheumatology fellowship at the Sepulveda VA/ UCLA/LAC Sylmar program, after spending a year in an Allergy and Immunology fellowship. He had the privilege of working under many distinguished academicians, including Richard Weisbart, MD; Bevra Hahn, MD; Harold Paulus, MD; Phil Clements, MD; and Richard Stiehm, MD.

Dr. Noritake has authored or co-authored a number of journal articles in immunology and rheumatology during his fellowship. He is currently in clinical practice with his associate, Dr. Irene Tong. His interests are in all aspects of rheumatology, but he has a special interest in rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, lupus, and inflammatory muscle diseases.

Dr. Noritake has been active in his community over the years, teaching residents at the Los Angeles County Hospital in Sylmar and at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, serving on the Board at Keiro Nursing Home, and serving in the past on the Medical and Scientific Committee for the Arthritis Foundation. He has given numerous talks in his local community on various topics in arthritis and rheumatology.

Dr. Noritake is well known in his local medical community, having been awarded Top Doctors recognition for the Pasadena and Los Angeles Magazines for multiple consecutive years, as well as being recognized as a Physician Honoree for the Arthritis Foundation.

When not at work, Dr. Noritake is a cycling enthusiast, and he has been a participant in the California Coast Classic fundraising event for the Arthritis Foundation for several years. He also enjoys skiing, fishing, and traveling with his wife, family, and friends.
