Dr. E. Robert Harris, M.D.

E. Robert Harris, M.D. is a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is also a Co-Medical Director for the Rehabilitation Unit at Presbyterian lntercommunity Hospital in Whittier, California. Dr. Harris also maintains a private practice of Rheumatology and related diseases in Whittier.

Dr. Harris received his medical degree from Université de Montpellier, Faculté de Médecine in France. His postgraduate training included an internship and a residency in experimental surgery at Jewish General Hospital/McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He also completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Hospital Notre Dame/Universite de Montreal and a Chief residency in Internal Medicine at St. Mary’s Bauer Medical Center Hospital in Long Beach, California. He completed his fellowship training in Rheumatology at U.C.L.A. Center for Health Sciences in Los Angeles, California. He is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and the Los Angeles Academy of Medicine.

Dr. Harris has published several articles and abstracts in journals such as “Journal of Rheumatology”, Annals of Rheumatic Diseases”, “Arthritis and Rheumatism”, and the journal of “French Society of Medicine and Surgery of the Foot”. Dr. Harris has served as Principle Investigator in more than 300 clinical research trials. He is a member of several professional organizations, including American College of Physicians, American College of Rheumatology, California Rheumatology Alliance, Southern California Rheumatology Society, Clinical Society of Rheumatology Organizations, Los Angeles County Medical Association, and American Arthritis and Rheumatology Associates (AARA).

Dr. Harris’ clinical special interests include Rehabilitation in Rheumatology, Fibromyalgia, and soft tissue rheumatic diseases and pain syndromes.
