Dr. Phong Nguyen, MD
Dr. Nguyen is one of the friendly and skilled doctors at Northern Virginia Center for Arthritis. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. His interest in medicine is deeply rooted in his admiration for his father, who is also a physician. Dr. Nguyen graduated with honors for his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. He completed his medical education at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine and Rheumatology fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Since 1990, Dr. Nguyen has been practicing Rheumatology in Northern Virginia. He has dedicated his career to caring for patients with rheumatologic and autoimmune disorders. Also, Dr. Nguyen has participated and conducted numerous research clinical trials and has been a keynote speaker in the field of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis.
Recognized as a top physician in his field by the Washingtonian, Northern Virginia magazine, and Consumer’s CHECKBOOK™, Dr. Nguyen is also noted to be the best physician in the Northeast and America’s Who’s Who survey for top physician. Most notably, he has received the Patients’ Choice Award for top rheumatologist.
Dr. Gospodinoff has been on staff as a rheumatologist with NVCA since 2003. Prior to this, she held a position at Kaiser Permanente™ in the D.C. Metro Area. She was also their director of the Bone Health Program for Osteoporosis. She has been recognized as a top physician by several entities, including Washingtonian, Northern Virginia magazine, and Guide to America’s Top Physicians. She is an active member of numerous organizations such as the Arthritis Foundation, American College of Physicians, and American College of Rheumatology.

Northern Virginia Center for Arthritis has been providing rheumatologic care to patients in the Northern Virginia area for over twenty years. All of our physicians are Board Certified in Rheumatology and dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate, and quality care to their patients. Our practice is committed to helping patients understand and manage their rheumatology care. We have three office locations to assist in your care. Each location includes an Infusion Center and Laboratory Facilities. The Reston location also offers Bone Density Testing, X-Ray Facilities, and Ultrasound.

Physician Assistants
Kelly Mitchell, P.A. – Kelly joined our practice from Boulder, Colorado. She has a bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado. She joined the Colorado School of Medicine Colorectal Cancer Research Team and investigated new chemotherapy agents. Kelly then transitioned to the University of Colorado Cancer Center and worked as a Clinical Trials Coordinator for Breast Cancer Clinical Trials. After working with cancer patients, she pursued her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at NOVA Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. She graduated with highest honors at the top of her class. Kelly moved to Northern Virginia in 2015 and joined our practice shortly after. Kelly has a passion for autoimmune diseases and working with her patients to find the best individualized treatment plans. She takes real interest in osteoporosis and bone health as well as osteoarthritis.
Taylor Noreiga, P.A. – Taylor is originally from Tallahassee, Florida where her passion for medicine began at an early age. She completed her undergraduate education at Florida State University, earning a B.S. in Exercise Science and a minor in Child Development. She was an active member of the University Honors Program, the Pre-Physician Assistant Club, and the American Medical Women’s Association. She completed her Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies at South College in Knoxville, TN, where she also represented her class as a student board member for the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants. Taylor has a special interest in health and wellness in autoimmune disease. She is interested in bone health and the prevention and management of osteoporosis. She is well trained and proficient in joint aspiration and injection. She enjoys helping patients navigate through the complex path of biologic drugs used in Rheumatology today. She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants, and American Academy of Physician Assistants.
