Dr. Alan Alberts, MD

Dr. Alberts is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He joined West Broward Rheumatology Associates in 2002, after 8 years as the Director of the Division of Rheumatology at the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York. He earned his Bachelor of Arts at Boston University, and after graduate studies in Boston, he studied medicine at the Sackler School of Medicine / Tel Aviv University. His internship and residency in Internal Medicine were completed at the North Shore University Hospital / Cornell University Medical College and the Memorial / Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He completed his fellowship in Rheumatology at the North Shore University Hospital / Cornell University Medical College. His interests include collecting classic writing instruments and timepieces. He and his wife, Nancy, a registered nurse and prominent local instructor of Mah Jongg, are the proud parents of 2 children.

Dr. Elias Halpert, MD

Dr. Halpert is Board Certified in Rheumatology. He received his medical degree from Universidad Del Valle. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and Long Island College Hospital and his Rheumatology fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center College Of Medicine.

Dr. Steven Kimmel, MD

Dr. Kimmel is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He received his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Albert Einstein – Montefiore Medical Center and his Rheumatology fellowship at Hospital For Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute.

AARA Doctor Kimmel

Dr. Kevin Stone, MD

Dr. Stone is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He received his medical degree from Universidad Mundial Dominicana, School Of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Jersey City Medical Center. He completed his Rheumatology fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center.

West Broward Rheumatology is the preeminent rheumatology practice in northwest Broward County. Our 4 rheumatologists are Board Certified in rheumatology, and each has over 20 years of experience diagnosing and treating all forms of rheumatic diseases. While WBRA is located on the campus of University Hospital Medical Center, we also maintain staff privileges at a number of local hospitals, including Northwest Regional Medical Center, Westside regional Medical Center, Coral Springs Medical Center, and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Sunrise, Florida.

West Broward Rheumatology Associates offers on site digital x-rays, GE Lunar DEXA Bone Densitometry, and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. We have an infusion suite with a dedicated staff of nurses, with private infusion rooms available. We also have an active clinical research program with a certified research coordinator, presently participating in a number of clinical trials.
