Dr. Barry Waters
Dr. Barry Waters founded Arthritis Specialists, P.A. in 1989 in Coral Springs, Florida. He specializes in diagnosing and treating rare and difficult rheumatology diseases. Arthritis Specialists, P.A. is an academic teaching center.
Dr. Waters obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree at Brown University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree at Baylor College of Medicine with Honors. After graduation, Dr. Waters held a Research Position in the Infectious Disease Department at Baylor. He completed his Internship in Straight Medicine, Residency in Internal Medicine, and Fellowship in Rheumatology at the Medical College of Virginia. He was the former Medical Director of Broward Branch of Arthritis Foundation and former Vice Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee of Broward Branch of Arthritis Foundation. Dr. Waters was given the Help and Hope Award from the Arthritis Foundation in 2002. Dr. Waters is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Internal Medicine Department and the Director of Larkin Community Hospital Rheumatology Fellowship Program. He has published several articles in different medical journals and has been an Investigator in multiple clinical trials. He is an active participant in many Rheumatology professional organizations. His wife, Dr. Susan Waters, is a well known Pediatrician in Coral Springs. They have two sons, a grandson, and granddaughter.
