Dr. Peter Lloyd
Peter Lloyd MD is a Board-certified rheumatologist, and founder of Seaside Rheumatology in Encinitas CA. He is well known in the community for his exceptional skill, compassionate patient care, and integrative approach to medicine. Dr. Lloyd attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree, a certificate in applied business and completed an extensive Alzheimer’s disease research project. Dr. Lloyd then attended The University of Vermont College of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine degree.
Next, he completed an internal medicine residency with the University of Chicago NorthShore as well as a clinical and research rotation in the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine Rheumatology department. After completing his residency training, Dr. Lloyd went on to Los Angeles, CA, where he completed his rheumatology fellowship program at the prestigious David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA. During his fellowship, he underwent additional training at the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course and Hands-on Workshop at UCLA to fine tune his ultrasound techniques.
Dr. Lloyd maintains active membership in the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, and American College of Rheumatology. Known as a leader in the field of rheumatology, Dr. Lloyd is frequently asked to share his knowledge with other physicians. He has conducted dozens of presentations and other teaching activities. He has authored textbook chapters and published several research studies in professional journals.
When not at the office, Dr. Lloyd enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, giving back to the community through volunteer work, and traveling. He also participates in a variety of hobbies and athletic activities, including ice hockey, snorkeling, sailing, cars, hands on projects, hiking, fly-fishing, wakeboarding, paddle boarding, snowboarding, scuba diving, and underwater photography.
