Dr. Alain Alvarez, MD
Bilingual in both English and Spanish, Dr. Alvarez was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Miami, FL. He graduated Phi Kappa Phi with both his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology and his medical degree from the University of Miami. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL and his Rheumatology fellowship at the University of Minnesota.
His medical interests include traditional Rheumatology care as well as non-surgical orthopedic alternatives for his patients. Additionally, he incorporates dietary and herbal remedies to address musculoskeletal pain in a more wholistic manner.
Of particular note is his interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound. He is skilled and certified both nationally and internationally in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound for the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal disease. Furthermore, he is an active sub-investigator conducting clinical trials in private practice for diseases such as psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, giant cell arteritis, lupus, and regenerative medicine.
Dr. Alvarez is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, Florida Society of Rheumatology, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, Collier County Medical Society, and the Florida Medical Association. Taking into account his education, experience, and particular interests, Dr. Alvarez offers a variety of options to his patients in order to meet their goals and improve quality of life.

Dr. Jeffrey Alper is a board certified rheumatologist with over 25 years of experience in clinical practice. He received his medical degree from University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Rheumatology at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Teresa Smith, FNP-C
Terry started her journey as a healthcare provider as an Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner in New York 25 years ago, where she owned and operated her practice. Her love for the sun had her relocate to Naples where she has been practicing Rheumatology under the supervision of Dr. Jeffrey Alper for over 7 years. Terry is an intuitive Nurse Practitioner who leverages her internal medicine experience to provide robust treatment plans that will help patients achieve improvements in their overall health. Terry is a proud mom of 4 children and 2 dogs.
Yekaterina Grigol, FNP-C
Kate joined our practice in 2020 with 7 years of diverse clinical experience. She graduated Cum Laude from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and continued her medical studies in Miami. In 2015, Kate completed her Masters in Medical studies and Master’s in Physician Assistant. She provides patients with a holistic approach to the management of their ailment. Originally from Ukraine, Kate is fluent in English, Spanish and Russian. In her time off, Kate enjoys spending time with her husband outside and gardening.
Nathan Warder, FNP-C
Nathan Warder is a nationally certified nurse practitioner, certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. His educational history includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. He completed clinical practicums at the Spinal Institute of Atlanta and multiple other clinics around greater Atlanta.
His experience also includes working in Critical Care, Burn and Vascular Surgery units. His pride and joy are his wife and four young children, including boy/girl twins. He moved to Naples from north of Atlanta and likes to think he brings some southern hospitality to his patients, providing outstanding and unique customer service and care. He is compassionate, a great listener, and goes above and beyond for his patients to provide the best care possible.
