DR. MELANIE C. BARRON, DO
Dr. Melanie Barron DO, FACOI, FACR
Dr. Barron is Board Certified in Rheumatology. She graduated from the University of North Texas Health Science Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000. She completed her internship and Internal Medicine residency at Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas. She then was a hospitalist at Texas Health Harris Methodist for two years, prior to completing a Rheumatology fellowship at Plaza Medical Center of Fort Worth. She received a faculty appointment at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in 2008, where in addition to clinical practice, she was Assistant Professor of Medicine, Chief of Rheumatology, Program Director for the Rheumatology fellowship, and principal investigator for multiple clinical trials. She joined USMD in 2013, where she focused on clinical practice and was team lead for the AMGA Rheumatoid Arthritis Collaborative. Transitioning to private practice in 2017, she joined American Arthritis and Rheumatology Associates in 2018. As a strong patient advocate, she has been privileged to serve as a community speaker for the Arthritis Foundation, team captain for Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis, and Advocate for Arthritis in Washington DC. She is a member of multiple local, state, and national medical organizations and has served on multiple committees with the goal of improving patient outcomes.
