G. TIMOTHY KELLY, MD
Dr. Kelly is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada. His family are third generation Southern Nevadans, and his wife’s family are six generations in the Las Vegas area. As a young man, he earned his Eagle Scout Badge and graduated Salutatorian from his High School class in 1974. He attended Brigham Young University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in 1979. He graduated from the University of Nevada School of Medicine as a MD in 1984. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Nevada Affiliated Residency Program at University Medical Center of Southern Nevada in 1987. He next completed a Rheumatology Fellowship at Loma Linda University in 1989.
Dr. Kelly’s first employment was at Scripps Clinic in Southern California from 1989 to 1991 in the Department of Rheumatology. He and his family then returned home to Las Vegas where he joined the staff of Desert Orthopedic Center from 1991 to 1993. He next went into private practice where he has been for the last 26+ years. He has been at his current location since 1995. He is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, is board certified in Rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and has been the Vice President and President of the Rheumatology Association of Nevada. He is the current Rheumatology Chairman at the Mountain View Hospital Internal Medicine Residency. He is married to Janet Whipple Kelly. They are the parents of four children and have 5 wonderful grandchildren and growing!
Dr. Kelly has been in private practice in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1993. At his current location since 1995, he has a well-established practice in the local medical community. “Everybody knows Dr. Kelly.” The greatest asset to his practice is his able Physician Assistant, his daughter Elise Call, PA-C. She has been practicing with him for 5 years. Dr. Kelly has a general Rheumatology practice, caring for those who have Rheumatoid Arthritis, Gout, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Psoriatic Arthritis, the Scleroderma spectrum of illnesses, Sjogren’s Syndrome, Inflammatory Muscle Diseases, Vasculitis, Osteoporosis, and Osteoarthritis, as well as many other disorders. He has a particular interest in Inflammatory Muscle and related disorders.
Dr. Kelly’s practice is designated as an infusion center. He frequently administers intravenous medications for Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Systemic Lupus, ANCA associated Vasculitis disorders, Gout, and Osteoporosis, as well as other conditions. He also administers in-office subcutaneous medications for Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Asthma, and Urticaria.
Dr. Kelly has been involved in clinical research for the past 25 years. He been a principle investigator in over 25 trials as well as a sub-investigator in 5 trials. Treatments for Systemic Lupus have been the main research topic, and Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis treatments have also been studied.
Dr Kelly joined the AARA and Bendcare family in 2018. He is pleased to be affiliated with AARA and Bendcare as well as his AARA rheumatology colleagues.
