Dr. Sanjay Chabra, DO
Dr. Sanjay Chabra is the medical director of the Texas Arthritis Center in El Paso, TX. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona and Rheumatology fellowship training at the University of California, Irvine.
Prior to relocating to Texas, Dr. Chabra served as the Director of Rheumatology for seven years at St. Jude Heritage Medical Group in Fullerton, California. He was awarded as a Physician of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association from 2013 through 2018.
Dr. Chabra’s approach to treating rheumatic diseases is to actively listen to the patient to understand their needs, provide education, and use evidence-based medicine to achieve the best possible outcome. Each patient’s experience and needs are unique, just as no two fingerprints can be the same. Therefore, he focuses on developing, in partnership with the patient, an individualized treatment plan that meets their goals for optimal health. He feels privileged to develop lasting relationships with his patients and truly enjoys providing for their care and comfort.
Dr. Chabra’s areas of interest include Arthritis, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Gout, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Scleroderma, Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, Inflammatory Myopathies, and Systemic Vasculitis.
Dr. Chabra has a passion for using evidence-based medicine and is involved in many ongoing clinical trials. He is NIH and GCP certified for clinical trials and currently functions as principal and sub-principal investigator on nearly ten gold-standard trials. Subjects include usefulness of biologics as well as tolerance, safety, and effect on outcome for new agents.
Dr. Chabra is married with two children and enjoys basketball, skiing, and traveling.
